HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

Description

This qualification reflects the role of a variety of workers who use a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge to provide assistance to health professional staff for the care of clients. Health services assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.

Qualification information

HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance consists of 15 units of competency mad up of 7 core units and 8 elective units. This qualification includes a mandatory 120 hour work placement.

CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services.

CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people.

HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems.

HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.

HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety.

BSBMED301 Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately.

BSBWOR301 Organise personal work priorities and development. 

Elective units 

CHCCCS002 Assist with movement.

CHCCCS020 Respond effectively to behaviours of concern.

CHCCCS026 Transport individuals.

HLTAIN001 Assist with nursing care in a acute care environment.

HLTAIN002 Provide non-client contact support in a acute care environment.

CHCAGE005 Provide Support to people living with dementia.

BSBFLM312 Contribute to team effectiveness.

CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support.

Elective units have been selected by HANMAC on the basis of consultation with industry. Elective units that are not included in the elective section of this page are available by negotiation. Elective units must meet the packaging rules within HLT33115 before being considered for inclusion.

Support

Students enrolling in this course will be provided support by phone and email as required. Face to face meetings can be arranged by appointment.  Students requiring higher level support then what can be provide will be referred to external support services.

Course Duration

12 weeks. This course is competency based and can be completed in a shorter time frame depending on the students existing skills and knowledge and prior learning.

External study: External enrollments for the 2017 calendar year will commence from late January 2017 and will continue until early December 2017.
