This qualification reflects the role of community service workers who design and deliver person-centered services to individuals and/or groups. Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services.
At this level, workers may be autonomous with limited responsibility within established parameters and may be required to supervise and lead other workers in projects or teams. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts.
CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services consists of 15 units of competency made up of 7 core units and 8 elective units. A 120 hour placement may be required for students who can't provide evidence of 2 years of full time or equivalent work in a similar role.

Elective units have been selected by HANMAC on the basis of consultation with industry. Elective units that are not included in the elective section of this page are available by negotiation. Elective units must meet the packaging rules within CHC42015 before being considered for inclusion.

You must be an existing worker in the Community Services industry to access Higher Level Skills funding for this qualification.
Twelve months. This course is competency based and can be completed in a shorter time frame depending on the students existing skills and knowledge and prior learning.

Face to face (Classroom based) training: Orientation / commencement date: TBA.
External: External enrollments for the 2017 calendar year will commence from late January 2017 and will continue until early December 2017.
